MEET THE TEAM: Head of Production Julia Coles (series 1 to 3)

1.     Describe Dave Spud in 3 words:

Hilarious, Genius, Bizzare

2.     What is your role on the series?

I'm the Production Manager at ClothCat Animation. My role was to schedule and manage our in house team of artists as well as the Directors approval timetable in order to meet all delivery requirements and deadlines. We took care of additional design, rigging, layout and animation here at Cloth Cat.

3.     What is the most ‘Spud’ thing to happen in your life?

I most related to the episode where Gran fell in love with a Donkey.

4.     Have you worked on any projects similar to Dave Spud?

In 12 years...never! I was so excited after watching the trailer and we started to get the first scripts through. The series was so refreshing in terms of storyline and characters. Getting to work on something which had a surreal twist to it was something the team and I had been wishing and waiting for! The whole crew would be rolling in laughter during reviews. Our artists found it an absolute pleasure to animate given not only the style of animation we were working to but the script and storyline dynamics. These elements allowed our artists to really get creative.

5.     Insiders scoop, something we should look out for in Dave Spud?

Lil Sue having about 10 sideline jobs...she's the BEST!

6.     Which character do you most identify with? And why?

I think I most identify with Gareth...calm in a crisis and someone who blends into all the chaos!
